The first explorers in the Vallee de Mai where the legendary Coco de Mer plant grows were left standing in awe at the sight of the male and female plants together. More than 600 years ago these people believed they had found the real Garden of Eden. The sensation when walking through those forests is exactly that, to be stepping on one of the most beautiful masterpieces of nature. We believe that the Coco de Mer cosmetics line has every strength to become a globally recognized brand in the most luxury niche markets for those who seek the real and natural. For the very characteristics of the raw materials, many of our lines will produce limited edition products which will only be available for a certain period of time, this is because no natural element from the Seychelles can be industrially harvested. The efforts and profits will be directly reinvested in the protection of the forests Coco de Mer Cosmetics is directed towards becoming a line of true quality niche products for those who look for the unique, the daring and the savage. The raw materials are extracted by hand and the products are equally hand made with the passion. Buying a product from us isn’t merely buying a perfume or a cream, but it is a chance to become part of this legend which started on a remote Island of Seychelles.

Our mission is to create a global awareness of the incredible potential of the Coco De Mer and its healing properties in order to safeguard this plant as well as all the flora and fauna that thrives around it. All our products are centered around a solid principle of Quality, each containing a generous proportion of organic natural oils and extracts in each product line to allow the true power of nature to emerge. Thanks to our customer feedback we have adopted a cycle to allow continuous improvement and creativity in our cosmetics lines. The cosmetic line of the Coco de Mer represents excellence of it’s genre thanks to the collaboration of major universities in Italy for Research and Development as well as Master perfumers in the UK and Italy which continue to innovate and surprise with their creations.

Our principal value is the protection and the preservation of the Coco de Mer plant and the forests in which it grows. This isn’t only healthy for the planet, but it allows our products to be 100% wild grown organic from one of the oldest virgin forests in the world. Our company works in unison with Government of Seychelles to encourage replanting of the seeds and carefully planned harvesting. Special training is undertaken by the pickers which allows them to gather naturally fallen nuts in the forest without harming the nature around them. This is also surveyed by local authorities and a quota of harvesting is decided each year based on the well being of the forests where the nuts grow. From the very start we felt the need to create genuine products which could truly represent the magnificence of the natural elements such as the Coco de Mer which are used as a base. There is a sense of almost divine when one works with the raw materials, having come from a tree which not so long ago was believed to be only legendary. Pirates and merchants would sight the nut floating near distance shores not knowing where it came from, hence the name Coco De Mer meaning coconut of the sea. Therefore, the utmost respect is needed when working with such crude raw materials. We wanted our products to be natural and beneficial to the wearer. Raw materials can be chemically different depending on rainfall or location of harvest for example, and we have worked very hard to stabilize the chemical fluctuations as required by international law whilst maintaining a generous proportion of natural ingredients inside each product. This was an area we are not prepared to compromise on, and guarantee a product which is based on 100% organic compounds.
